My Approach

Reaching out for therapy is a courageous first step, and I welcome you! This process won’t always be easy, but I am here to support you. I’m a third-generation helping professional on my matrilineal side. I have come to the counselling profession after a decade in the health profession as a registered nurse, supporting people in one way or another has always felt like a deep calling.

In our increasingly polarized world, differences can often feel insurmountable, and division can seem more common than connection. I believe that connection and belonging are fundamental human needs, and that healing the relationships we have with ourselves and with those closest to us can create meaningful ripple effects in our wider communities.

I am passionate about supporting people through relational challenges, including cross-cultural relationships, and helping partners foster greater trust, communication, and empathy. My hope is that through deeper understanding and emotional connection, we can bridge divides and experience more intimacy, resilience, and belonging in our lives.

My counselling style is non-shaming, caring, affirming, and strengths-based; my communication style is transparent and direct. I aim to offer and co-create a compassionate, non-judgmental space where you feel supported to discover and reconnect with your authentic self. I find myself most often combining both emotion-focused therapy and somatic approaches. I also draw from attachment theory, which emphasizes the lasting impact early attachment relationships have on how individuals approach romantic relationships, friendships, and parenting relationships as adults.

I offer counselling to couples/relationships and family members. I welcome any questions or concerns you may have about the counselling process.
