Works with Individuals & Relationships
My Approach
Starting therapy can be a vulnerable step, and I want to honour the courage it takes to reach out. My own experience with mental health challenges has shaped the way I approach this work with empathy, openness, and a deep respect for your unique story.
In my practice, I support individuals navigating a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, grief, shame, and the impacts of violence or abuse. I believe healing happens in relationships — in spaces where we feel seen and supported. My role is co-creating this space with you, supporting your process with safety in mind, where all of you and your parts can be accepted and welcomed into the room.
My approach is trauma-informed, attachment-based, and grounded in compassion and curiosity. In practice, that looks like us exploring patterns while focusing on self-understanding and reconnecting with our sense of agency in what is often an uncertain and changing world.
I bring myself, both the personal and professional, into therapy. Including insights into how systems of power, cultural expectations, and social location impact mental health, I strive to hold space for those complexities in our work together. I’ve had the privilege of working with people from diverse backgrounds, and I approach each therapeutic relationship with humility, care, and a commitment to learning about who you are, beyond any label or diagnosis.
If you’re interested in working together or want to learn more, I am ready and able to offer a brief consultation call to ensure we’re a good fit for the journey ahead. If now is the time, I encourage you to reach out.

Hello there, I’m Farnoosh, an immigrant who has been living, playing, and working on the unceded lands of the Coast Salish people as an uninvited guest and settler. I come to counselling through a passion for connecting with people and my history with mental health challenges. I, too, know what it feels like to experience the isolation that comes from feeling anxious and depressed. Growing up in Iran, I experienced the impacts of patriarchy, including what was expected of me as a woman. At a very young age, I knew that I didn’t fit into the box that was prescribed to me. Moving to Canada provided me the opportunity to further learn about the challenges that people experience dealing with various degrees of power and striving to learn how to support them in dismantling their own boxes and live a life of meaning and empowerment.
When not in session, I am a big fan of literature and enjoy reading fantasy novels, immersing myself in the story of the characters and their journeys. I find joy and tranquillity from the ocean, and I often can be found walking near the water. Valuing taking care of my mind and body, I enjoy movement and exercise. I hope to bring my passion for our mind-body connection to our work together and to provide a space where I get to know you and all your layers as we support your journey together.
